Water Based Inks

We use water based inks as an alternative to PVC inks so that they don't contain all the toxic chemicals of their plastisol counterparts. Instead the inks are comprised of naturally occurring substances. No harmful solvents are required for clean up which reduces toxic waste.
FSC-certified forests are managed with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment. They are independently audited to ensure they meet the FSC’s Principles and Criteria for Forest Management.

We print our products on demand. This way we only use what we need and there is no unused inventory that would need to be discarded or pulped.

Carbon Offset
To minimise transportation we produce your night sky in a print lab closest to you. We now have 10 print labs throughout the world.
To offset the impact of the carbon used in the minimum transportation we have partnered with an amazing non profit called onetreeplanted.org. These guys work with the US Forestry Service and the World Resource Institute to bring tree planting projects to communities across the globe. We recommend you check them out!

We recently moved our computing platform to Google Cloud. We made the decision based on their environmental impact. Google matches 100% of the energy consumed by their global operations with renewable energy and maintains a commitment to carbon neutrality.
By moving our computing power to the Google Cloud platform the net emissions associated with our computing power and data storage is zero.
Every time you create a Night Sky you are actually contributing a net effect of cleaner air, better bio diversity and a more sustainable way of life.
We have done a lot but there is still a lot more to do. We will continue to audit our supply chains, transport options and technology platforms to ensure we are contributing as much as we possibly can.
